Why do you run?

I run for the fun of it.  You can get away from all of the day’s worries and just relax.

Describe your best marathon memory.

3 Years ago a friend came up to me and asked if I thought he could run a marathon.  Not thinking he was series I said “sure you can”.  I then said if you run it I will run it with you.  He proceeded to set his goal at 4:30.  We went down to the Disney Marathon and ran a 4:29 and a few seconds  The feeling of helping him hit his goal time was better than any personal PR I have ever hit.

Why do you pace?

It is fun to help other people – plain and simple.  I remember the feeling I had when I hit my first goal time – just AWESOME!  By pacing I get to re-live that first time over and over again. . . how cool is that?

Tell us your best pacing experience.

Each one is the best!  Watching others hit their goal time in a marathon, ½ marathon, triathlon or whatever it be is a great feeling.  I am just honored to be able to share in the joy of the experience with them.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

We will have fun, motivate each other, and hit the goal time that we set out for.  What else can you ask for?

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Have fun and listen to your body!  That, and if there are kids around make sure you give them “high fives”.  It makes you feel “cool” and they seem to love it.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Proud to be a cancer survivor!  My wife and I are expecting our first child in May 2011.  Hopefully he/she will be a born runner!

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Active with the American Cancer Society.
