A quotation you like…

"Run only if you must. If running is an imperative that comes from inside you and not from your doctor. Otherwise, heed the inner calling to your own play. Listen if you can to the person you were and are and can be.  Then do what you do best and feel best at.  Something you would do for nothing. Something that gives you security and self-acceptance and a feeling of completion even moments when you are fused with your universe and your creator.  When you find it, build your life around it.   Dr. George Sheehan, from Running & Being

Personal goals

Complete 50 states; Complete an Ironman;  Complete a marathon in 3:20 or better

Why do you run?

It allows me to see things that I have not seen before. I started running to keep in shape, but running has enabled me to go places and experience things that I don't think I would do if I hadn't started.

Describe your best marathon memory.

Finish Boston for the first time.  The crowds and the aura of Boston are like no other.  I felt like I had achieved something that few have done.

Why do you pace?

I pace to meet people and to see different places.  My goal is to complete 50 states and this will help me.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

My best pacing experience was pacing with my daughter in San Francisco.  It was her first marathon--she almost gave up but I talked her in to completing it.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I will do my best to get you to the finish line.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Train well and enjoy the moment.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Set a goal and go after it.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Swam for Carly's Crossing which is raising money for cancer.  I have run several races for cancer awareness and for diabetes.
