What are you reading now?

Reading for Real, by Kathy Collins…it’s a teacher book.  I am also pinning a lot of articles on Pinterest about swimming and tri training to help prepare me for my upcoming half iron distance triathlon.

Who do you train with?

My friend Nancy and other running friends…  my two Vizslas are great running buddies too!

Personal goals

Compete in my first half iron distance triathlon (June 14, 2015).  I would also like to run Boston again…my 2008 jacket needs some updating!

A quotation you like…

“A good goal should SCARE you a little, and EXCITE you a lot!” –Joe Vitale

“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord.  Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.  Plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

This scripture has helped me through my most difficult challenges in life.

Why do you run?

Running is a huge stress reliever for me.  It keeps me in good mental and physical health!

Describe your best marathon memory.

I don’t really have a favorite marathon memory because they all hold a special place in my heart for different reasons.  I cherish the wonderful friendships I have made through my running experiences.

Why do you pace?

I pace because I love meeting new people and helping people reach their running goals.  It is a great way to “give back” to the sport after all of the help that pacers have given me along the way!

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I will do my best to deliver and help every runner meet their goals!  I don’t often run out of things to talk about, so you can chat as little or as much as you would like.  Some people just like to listen and be entertained :0)

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Trust in your training…and hang tough through those last few miles.  Everyone is feeling it.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I ran my first marathon at Disney for Team in Training.  I ran it in honor of my mom after losing her to cancer.  I try to volunteer and support missions at our church as much as possible.  I have started up a couple of running clubs, one for young girls and one at the school I teach at, to promote running and healthy living along with building positive relationships!
