Favorite book is “A Wrinkle in Time”. Haven’t read any books lately, but I at least try to keep up with Runners World.

Why do you run?

 

It just makes sense, in so many ways. It’s part of who I am.

 

Describe your best marathon memory.

 

Having my family support me at my races is tremendous. They bring signs and they are very loud and very proud. My dad threw a football to me in the last few yards of my very first marathon (I caught it).

 

Why do you pace?

 

I’ve had valuable experiences with pacers so it’s a way to give back.

It just keeps getting better, so, the next one!

 

Why should someone run in your pace group?

 

Runners should run with me if their goal time is the time I’m running. If you trained appropriately, and you want it enough, I will get you there as efficiently and pleasantly as I know how.

 

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

 

Buckle up--you’re in for an unforgettable ride. There may be cartwheels.

 

Anything else you’d like to share?

Runners, please do your homework, and feel free to ask me questions as we go – only you can determine what nutrition and hydration plan is optimal for YOU. I can point out the stops and give you friendly reminders, but I can’t write a personalized plan for you on race day.

 

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I donate annually to several charities and to my alma mater, and I volunteer my time when and how I can (as a pacer, for example).
