Personal goals

Why do you run?

To stay in good cardiovascular conditioning and maintain my weight at 136 pounds. I love the rush that comes from racing marathons

Describe your best marathon memory.

Still qualifying for the Boston marathon after spending 3 minutes in a portapotty 12 miles into the race ! My friends had left me and I was all alone for the last half of the race. I ran a negative split and crossed the line 41 seconds under goal time.

Why do you pace?

To give back to the running community. “ Because I have been given much, I too must give”

Tell us your best pacing experience.

In  October 2010, I was the 1:35 pacer in the Halloween half marathon. I came in within 10 seconds of the time and still placed 3rd in my age group. I Led a large group of runners down steep hills past Sundance ski resort in Utah

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I can talk and run at the same time. I can give some running advice to you while you run that will help you in future races.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Relax and let me do the work. I pace so you can race !

Anything else you’d like to share?

Running has given me a tremendous amount of self confidence. I want new runners to feel the same excitement that I feel about marathon running.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I have developed a three part powerpoint presentation on marathon running and overnight relay running that I have presented free of charge several times over the last two years at running stores.
