A quotation you like…

“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift”  - Steve Prefontaine

“To be a consistent winner means preparing not just one day, one month or even one year – but for a lifetime.”  - Bill Rodgers

Why do you run?

Stay healthy, engage my competitive spirit.

Describe your best marathon memory.

Crossing the finish line with my first Boston Qualifying time by 11 seconds, after running the last mile battling calf cramps.

Why do you pace?

I enjoy helping others to reach their goals.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

Pacing my son to a sub 20 5k, I expect this fall he may return the favor pacing me to a sub 18 5k!

Why should someone run in your pace group?

Because you want to hit your time goal … and have fun & encouragement along the way from the entire group!

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Hopefully the ‘hay is in the barn’, and you have trained hard to reach your goal.  Mental preparation is key, you can do this, you have to believe to achieve … so if you bring the right attitude, we will do everything we can to achieve your goal!

Anything else you’d like to share?

Proper fueling and nutrition can make all the difference in the world, you need to practice this on your long runs to get dialed in.  Adrenalin will be a huge boost, but you must control it in the early miles.  Have confidence, race results will always exceed what you can do on your training runs, as long as you run smart.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Coaching soccer and have run marathons in support of Team in Training benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, as both my parents are battling Leukemia.
