What are you reading now?

I have a one-year-old and a three-year-old, so nothing!  I try to read running magazines when I can.

Who do you train with?

Myself.  It's my “me” time.

Personal goals

Be an excellent pacer; continuously improve as a runner; raise two kind, successful, loving children; visit all seven continents.

A quotation you like…

Running doesn't build character; it reveals it.

Why do you run?

Goal setting, fitness, “me” time, stress relief, and sometimes just to enjoy a beautiful day.

Describe your best marathon memory.

My first marathon was very small.  There were very few runners.  Aside from my family, there was zero crowd support.  My husband, mom, dad, brother and sister-in-law drove to several areas of the course and cheered for me.  Near the end, my husband found me on the road and drove beside me for a few minutes to give encouragement.  Not only did I achieve my goal of running a marathon, but I had the most important people in my life there to share that moment with me.

Why do you pace?

Numerous people helped me in my journey to run a marathon and I want to pay it forward.  There is nothing better than helping others!

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I love to joke around and have fun!  I also have a Type A personality, so I will be very conscientious about time.  I want you to make your race goal!

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

The race is the celebration of all the hard work you have done.  We are going to have a great time!

Anything else you’d like to share?

My first official race was a full marathon.  Also, I ran through both pregnancies.  Nine miles just two days before giving birth!
