Personal goals

a BQ would be sweet! Just maintaining my overall performance and improving without injury would be great!

A quotation you like…

”Do or do not, there is no try.”

Why do you run?

I love all the friends I have made through running. It makes me feel strong and accomplished!

Describe your best marathon memory.

Starting at the back of the pack with the goal of passing as many pacers as I could. I gradually met up with and passed the 4:10 pacer and was feeling great!

Why do you pace?

I like to help encourage others plus it helps keep my training in check. It’s more fun to run with others than by yourself!

Tell us your best pacing experience.

I have so many stories I could tell but one memory I have is pacing a couple of runners new to half marathons at Snow Canyon Half. They were sticking with us for the first half of the race and looked strong!! My co-pacer and I encouraged them to go ahead if they were “feeling it” and both racers were able to exceed their goals and personal expectations.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I am able to stay strong with the pace while giving runners words of encouragement. It is also nice to be able to chat with runners that want to chat as it helps the miles go by quickly.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

They should know that we will likely take advantage of downhill sections and go slightly faster to allow for some extra time on any uphill sections. They should also know that we will walk through aid stations to hydrate and refuel.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I believe strongly in the power of the mind and having an “I can do hard things” frame of mind.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Any service to others is something I always have an open mind about.
