A quotation you like…

A bad run is better than no run at all…

Why do you run?

For mental and physical health.

Describe your best marathon memory.

Two of my good friends got engaged at the finish line of Boston Marathon 2011 and I was there to capture the moment.

Why do you pace?

I love to hear the stories and goals of the runners in my pace group during the first 20 miles, funny but they don’t talk much during the last 10k so I have to do all the talking!

Tell us your best pacing experience.

A runner in my group in the Palm Beaches Marathon was trying to break 3:30 not only to PR but because his child had made him an award if he did. I believe his previous PR was 3:45 or higher so this was a long shot. As he fought through some grueling miles toward the end I sent him ahead at mile 25 and he finished comfortably below 3:30 and received his homemade award!!

Why should someone run in your pace group?

For nice even splits and some quality advice along the run. Be prepared for motivation when you most need it!!!

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Your training is over and it is race day. It is all mental now so be prepared to use your head to overcome what your body is telling you. Run the race with your legs but finish with your mind and spirit!!!

Anything else you’d like to share?

Enjoy every minute of every run and never take for granted the ability to do so.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Spent the last year helping to provide athletic shoes and apparel to underprivileged youth and adults.
