I run to stay active, stay positive, and do my best to achieve what I am capable of.

|
My best marathon memory was running through the New York City neighborhood where I had lived for seven years.

Why do you pace?
|
I pace because I enjoy helping other runners, especially first-time marathoners, reach their goals, and I value the camaraderie with my pacing partner throughout the 4+ hour journey.

Tell us your best pacing experience.
|
During a race I paced last year at the Milwaukee Marathon, I carried a muscle-relaxer roller to help with cramps. Later, while waiting to board an Amtrak train, I overheard two people talking about their runner friend who had cramped badly but was able to finish thanks to help from a pacer. Realizing they were talking about me made my day and remains my best pacing experience.

Why should someone run in your pace group?
|
Running with me and my partner can help you keep an even pace, stay aware of turns and aid stations, learn from our experience, and, if needed, get relief from cramps with muscle relaxer.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?
|
Start with a pacer who is slightly slower than your goal pace. After five or six miles, move ahead and try to catch the next pacer in front.

Anything else you’d like to share? |
I enjoy photography and always bring my camera for post-race photos.

I volunteer my photography services at local events.
