A quotation you like… |
I’m sick of following my dreams. I’m just going to ask where they’re going and catch up with them later. I’m also against picketing but I don’t know how to show it.
Why do you run?
I run to meet others that enjoy the same type of exercise I do and make connections outside of running. |
Describe your best marathon memory.
My best marathon memory is finishing the LA Marathon in 2017, 13 years after my last marathon. Running through the city and finishing at the beach confirmed I can still do this marathon thing, and I’ve ran 14 more in the last 2 years. |
Why do you pace?
The same reason I don’t drive my car 100 mph. I don’t get that much satisfaction out of seeing how fast I can get from point A to point B. I enjoy the journey and the people I meet along the way much better. I want to engage with others around me, not pass them by. |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
Probably Orange County Marathon in 2017. I committed to pacing my first marathon in a pretty aggressive time after only pacing half marathons previously. Hit the target and boosted the confidence and enthusiasm for this pacing thing. |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
I enjoy talking to others and learning their stories, motivations and goals and will adjust my race so we hit our target with a minimal amount of stress, physical pain, and anxiety. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
Relax! Pacers are here to drive if you’re willing to ride. If it’s your first time out, we’ll go through some drivers ed lessons but we certainly won’t crash. |
