Why do you run?

Growing up in New York City, I was always a huge fan of the NYC Marathon. I have fond memories going to 70th street and 1st avenue and cheering on the runners. As an adult, I would always say “ I only run if I’m being chased”. Many things changed for me in my late 20s,with my Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnosis, and I realized I needed to blow off some stress – seeing how much my then boyfriend (now husband <3) was running, and how many medals he would get- I figured why not. It started as having something to do with him, and it’s evolved into something I do for myself.

Describe your best marathon memory.

Marine Corp 2019 – there was a torrential downpour, then it got so hot and sunny – you ran through it all, and it really forced me to remember the why behind why I was running.

Why do you pace?

I love helping others achieve their running goals. I have benefitted from sticking with pacers to reach my own goals, including qualifying for Boston. Pacing is the least I can do to give back to the sport.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

I joined a pacer during the Disney Marathon in 2019 – it was unbearably hot and sunny, we stuck with each other that day, and I realized pacing is just more than hitting a target, it’s helping people do what they thought might be impossible. To this day, I consider her one of my close friends & am fortunate enough to Sherpa for her as often as she will let me!

Why should someone run in your pace group?

If you want to be with a pacer who knows what it’s like to be getting started, or overcome something, then that is me! Bring the energy and happiness at all paces, hours, and miles!

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Stay hydrated, stay talking, and we will finish together!
