Why do you run?

 

Running brings out the best in me.  I like the constant challenge and the feeling of just moving.  There is a sense of peace in a run that I cannot get anywhere else!

Describe your best marathon memory.

 

California International is my favorite race, but I remember crossing under the 4:00 mark and finishing the Rheinbeck Hudson Valley Marathon.  I felt so confident and ran the entire time.  That feeling of finishing in 3:49 and having a great day was just amazing.  I ran so many marathons, but to finish sub four was like being on cloud nine.

Why do you pace?

 

I enjoy pacing because I remember what it felt like trying to reach a sub two hour half marathon.  I remember running with a pacer and feeling confident.  A pacer is there to help you relax and achieve your goal.  It is such a joy to run with people and guide them through a race!

Tell us your best pacing experience.

 

I was pacing the “Race the Runways” half marathon for the 2:15 group and a girl ran with me.  She was running in memory of her mom and I wanted so much to help her reach her goal.  I ended up carrying her jacket and another shirt.  We talked the entire time and it just meant so much to me to be able to help her meet her goal. 

Why should someone run in your pace group?

 

I love helping someone reach a goal and I enjoying sharing my running tips and experiences.  I will give a runner confidence and run even splits to help a runner.  I enjoy running and will help give someone an enjoyable race day. 

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

 

I am excited to have runners join my group and I will help you reach your goal!  I try to run an even pace and I will encourage you throughout the race!  If you need anything, I will help you!  I am here for you!

Anything else you’d like to share?

 

I am excited and love running!  I hope your love for running will grow after you run with me!

What philanthropic activities do you have?

 

I have volunteered at races and Habitat for Humanity in the past!
