Why do you run?
|
I run because I love it so much. I don’t love it every day, but it’s something that I can’t imagine not having in my life. It allows me to spend time with my friends, my wife, and with nature. Even on days I don’t want to run, if I get myself out the door, I always thank myself for it when I’m done. |

Describe your best marathon memory.
|
Boston 2023… my legs were tired, my brain was tired, but I made the left turn onto Boylston Street and slowed down to a jog to really take in and enjoy the final moments of an unforgettable last few months. I was remembering doing long runs at 6am with my friend who was also running Boston. I was remembering all the cold runs with my wife in the middle of winter. That final turn onto Boylston I know I made my younger self who started out hating running in middle school, really proud. |

Why do you pace?
|
This is one of the ways I can give back to the community that has given me so much in life! |

Tell us your best pacing experience.
|
In 2024 I was pacing the Cleveland Half and with a half mile to go I came across someone who had made a move at the 10-mile mark to run a PR. He had never run under 1:30 before. I told him to stay with me that we were almost there. I kept telling him he looked super smooth in his form and that he had another gear, he just needed to trust himself. He took off once we rounded the final turn (about 0.3 to the finish) and he shattered his PR! He waited for me at the finish and thanked me over and over again for helping him get there. It’s moments like that that make pacing so enjoyable! |

Why should someone run in your pace group?
|
The consistent pacing, the experience and company! I have been running since I was 12 and have run too many races in my life to count. Anywhere from the 400m to the Marathon, and all racing distances in between. I love running and I love helping the people around me reach their goals! |

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Try not to pay attention to your watch too much! Your watch splits are usually different than the actual mile marker splits, so trust your pacer will get you to the time you want to achieve! |
