A quotation you like…

"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

Why do you run?

I run because I believe it has been given to me to clear my head, see the world in another way, and it is something I am passionate about.

Describe your best marathon memory.

My best marathon memory was the last 5 miles of my first marathon. My legs and body were done but I fought mentally. Finally that last 100 meters with the crowd lining the finish I struggled my way across. It was such a cool moment to find the limits of my capabilities and to be able to push back against those limits.

Why do you pace?

I pace because I want to keep enjoying running. I can get wrapped up in running my own best times. I forget to want the best for others as well. Pacing gives me a chance to want the best for other runners and to even encourage them in doing so.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

I paced a Half Marathon in Nebraska and had an awesome pacing partner that showed me the ropes to pacing. I talked with a number of runners after the race and got to listen to the stories of their races.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

People should run in my pace group because I will be following a smart pacing strategy and I will be encouraging you along the way. I’m also very flexible to give you the encouragement you need. Need me to tell you how good you are doing? I can do that. Generally, I will be very positive and encourage you with anything positive I can find about your race and how you are doing.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Look for my pacing sign before the race and hang close. Introduce yourself if you would like. If possible I will do a quick introduction and what to expect before the race! If you have questions find me before the race (or during!) and I’ll be happy to answer your questions!

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Back home in Shelton, NE I have started and directed a 5k race on the 4th of July. They are currently in their 13th year and I still help where I can.
