A
quotation you like…
|
“Discipline
is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.”
|
Why
do you run?
|
I run because it keeps me grounded. Running clears my mind, builds
resilience, and reminds me that progress comes from consistency.
It’s also my way to challenge myself and see how far I can
go—physically and mentally.
|
Describe
your best marathon memory.
|
My best marathon memory was finishing the Chicago Marathon and
realizing that months of disciplined training had paid off.
Running through the neighborhoods, feeling the crowd support, and
crossing that finish line in a city I now call home was
unforgettable.
|
Why
do you pace?
|
I pace because I believe running is stronger when it’s shared.
Helping others achieve their goals—whether it’s a PR or their
first marathon—gives the miles deeper meaning. There’s nothing
better than seeing someone realize they’re capable of more than
they thought.
|
Tell
us your best pacing experience.
|
My best pacing experience was guiding runners to a strong, steady
finish and seeing them break their personal goals. Watching
someone realize they’re about to hit a PR—and being part of
that moment—is incredibly rewarding.
|
Why
should someone run in your pace group?
|
If you want steady splits, positive energy, and a calm, confident
race strategy, my group is for you. I focus on even pacing, clear
communication, and keeping things mentally strong when it matters
most.
|
Any
tips for runners about to join your group?
|
Trust the pace. Stay relaxed early. Fuel consistently (Maurten
gels work for me!). And most importantly, remember that the
marathon doesn’t truly begin until mile 20—save something for
the end.
|
Anything
else you’d like to share?
|
I’m
originally from Anhui, China, and now based in Chicago. Running
has connected me with amazing communities and lifelong friends.
I’m always grateful to be part of multiple running groups and to
give back by pacing.
|
What
philanthropic activities do you have?
|
I support
local running community initiatives and enjoy volunteering at
races when possible. I believe in giving back to the sport and the
community that has given me so much.
