A quotation you like…
It doesn’t get any easier [to run
every day], you just get stronger
Why do you run?
To get faster!
Why do you pace?
I love the community of running and
feel that pacing is one key way to be a part of the racing experience
Tell us your best pacing experience.
Some of my most memorable pacing
experiences have been impromptu. Two weeks ago, on my easy day, I helped some
runners get through a difficult Track workout, leading the whole way. They
didn’t expect me to join, and I wasn’t planning on running any faster than
7:00 pace. But in the end, everyone appreciated the power of shared running
energy.
Why should someone run in your pace
group?
If you’re in my group, I’ll do my best
to keep things light. Support you when you need it and shut up when you
don’t!
Any tips for runners about to join
your group?
Consistency is the easiest way to run
a fast half marathon. If you are shooting for 1:30, it’s better to run a 6:52
in miles 1-13 than starting at 6:30 for mile 1 and slowing to 7:15 in the
last mile.
Anything else you’d like to share?
To get faster, is way more about being consistent than working too hard. Run your slow runs
slow, your fast runs fast, and don’t forget to run long once a week!
What philanthropic activities do you
have?
I support ECOMB (Environmental
Coalition of Miami & the Beaches) and a
number of other environmental charities both local to Miami and multi-national organizations. We
only have one earth, so not screwing it up beyond repair would be nice.
