My “other family” A great group of runners from North Park. I spend more time with them then my own family. But, it is at 4:45 a.m. so no guilt there. |

Why do you run? |
Because I can…and I recognize that and appreciate it everyday. I am very thankful that I have been blessed with good health. |

Describe your best marathon memory. |
The camaraderie that comes along with running and training with friends is amazing. My best memories is when two fellow runners gave up their race to run with me and ensure I would achieve my goal of qualifying for Boston. They made a Dena “sandwich” and brought me home…PR yeah! |

Why do you pace? |
I have been a fitness instructor for 22 years. I love to help people feel better about themselves. I know how much fitness had done for me and I want to pass it on. |

Why should someone run in your pace group? |
I maintain many certifications in the fitness industry. These certifications with hands on experience of leading many classes in 22 years has taught me to be a great motivator and leader. |

There will be good races and races that aren’t so good. We all have them. Learn from the experience and keep coming back. |
