A quotation you like… “Go a little further, or a little faster, or a little more often, and pretty soon you’ll be doing things once thought to be impossible” - My Dad

Why do you run? I can’t totally explain it, it’s a compulsion that defies logic!
Describe your best marathon memory: My high school best friend skateboarded much of the Philadelphia marathon to spectate and cheer for me on my 40th birthday.
Why do you pace? I love being in the race environment without the pressure of it being my own race. I’m way too competitive to ever sign up for a race and not go all out, so this is a great opportunity for me!
Tell us your best pacing experience: Pacing the Twin Cities Marathon, running through my own neighborhood, my neighbors went nuts!
Why should someone run in your pace group: I keep a good pace while keeping a good sense of humor! I’ve been through a lot in my athletic career (former college rower), with plenty of injuries and set-backs, so I have some good advice and encouragement!
Any tips for runners about to join your group? Take in more calories than you think is reasonable. And train to do so!
Anything else you’d like to share? I run-commute in Minnesota, negative 30 degrees, no problem.

What philanthropic activities do you have? I recently finished my involvement with the board of a nonprofit treatment center for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. |
