A quotation you like…

"If you're ever losing faith in human nature, go out and watch a marathon." Kathrine Switzer - Woman's Marathoning Pioneer

Why do you run?

I run to challenge myself with demanding goals. To prove to myself that if I put my mind to things they can be done. To be human is to be able to work hard and move your body for those that are no longer able to. Running has taught me how to be present with the moments in front of me, to not overthink what is ahead

Describe your best marathon memory.

The best memory I had was as Gasparilla 2025, I ran with a group of 4 people, though we were all from different states, ages and backgrounds, at the end of the those 13.1 miles, we became like a family.

Why do you pace?

I pace to encourage and motivate others, sometimes hearing “you got this, keep going” can change the whole race or run for someone who is struggling.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

The first half marathon I did, I ran with a close friend. We ran the first miles together, when we reached miles 6-10 my words of encouragement kept her from stopping. I later got to watch her cross the line in victory of reaching her goal time.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

Running in my pace group will feel supportive. I believe when we run with others we share special moments of accomplishing goals together, these moments become lifelong memories. I will continue to point out things to stay positive as a group when things get rough.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

My biggest tip is to have fun! Sometimes races can seem enduring, especially when we set goal times for ourselves, so we forget that these races are meant to be fun and celebrated.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I am currently volunteering with many groups around UCF, and with my clinic. I love volunteering with hospitals and helping patients in need. It shows me that it is a blessing to be healthy and physically fit.
