A quotation you like…

“REST is not a four-letter word to be ignored”   Kevin , M.D., PH.D. , director of the University of Florida Running Medicine Clinic

Why do you run?

It keeps me young, stress free, healthy, and runners are all great people.

Describe your best marathon memory.

My first ever marathon would have to be my best marathon memory (CVS Cleveland Marathon). My goal was to qualify for the Boston Marathon on my first attempt and I needed under 3:10:59 to do it; I finished in 3:10:47. Of course running The Boston Marathon the following year was also a great memory.

Why do you pace?

It is a great way to give back to the sport that I have been so fortunate to be a part of for over 34 years. There is nothing more rewarding than to help others achieve personal records and accomplish goals.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

Every pacing experience is my favorite because I love helping people achieve their running goals. It is so rewarding.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I am very consistent in my mile splits so you will not wear yourself out. I also like to make it fun and provide advice along the way. And most importantly, I will get you to the finish line when promised.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Train hard, remember to incorporate rest/recovery days in your training plan, get plenty of sleep the week before the race, stay relaxed, have fun, and let’s set PR’s together.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I have been know to dress as Superman in most of my marathons. The spectators and children along the course love it.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

-       Mentor 4th and 5th graders for Junior Achievement (JA).

-       Mentor college students to help them obtain local employment after college.
