A quotation you likeā¦ |
"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle: when the sun comes up, you'd better be running." |

Pacing my friend Marianne to a 1:28 at the Denver Half in 2009. When she broke 1:30 for the first time, it was very special to her and I was glad I was there to help. She was worried in the beginning that she would not make it or slow down too much, but I just reinforced to her the excellent training and how it might hurt, but it will feel great when we finish. |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
Besides being an even pacer and good runner, I help provide the motivation and important distraction so they become confident they will succeed. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
Trust in your training. The work has been done. On race morning, just relax and let it flow. |

What philanthropic activities do you have? |
I make sure to volunteer at a few races every year. When I race, I am so thankful for the people that help out and give up their time so I can have a fun race, I want to make sure that I give back to the running community as well.
