atWhy do you run? |
I love the freedom of movement. I enjoy pushing my limits. I enjoy testing myself against the course and my fellow runners. |
||
Describe your best marathon memory. |
Running a 2:51with a torn labrum in my right hip. |
||
Why do you pace? |
I enjoy helping runners achieve their goals that they maybe didn’t think were possible. I have run with pace groups myself, and I enjoy the opportunity to give back. |
||
Tell us your best pacing experience. |
This past spring (2018), I was the coach for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training that was preparing for the Boston Marathon. I had qualified for the race, so I was able to run the race with my team. I had the pleasure of helping a teammate (who was struggling with the insane weather conditions) finish the race. The awesome hug she gave me after finishing the race (her first marathon) made my efforts that day (and over the preceding months) completely worth it. |
||
It.Why should someone run in your pace group? |
I will do my utmost to help you meet your time goal, and we will have fun doing it. |
||
Any tips for runners about to join your group? |
Run the best race you can that day. You can’t control the weather. So make peace with the conditions if they are less than ideal, and alter your race strategy accordingly. |
