A quotation you like…

If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything. Mark Twain

Why do you run?

For health, both physical and mental; for fun and so I can eat more food!

Describe your best marathon memory.

Crossing the finish line in Columbus OH in 2011 with my then 90 year old grandfather as he became the 9th man to accomplish it. We had a squad car at our back and most of our family joined in as he walked across the line

Why do you pace?

To help others achieve their goals.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

I walked a marathon with my grandfather when he was 88. At mile 16 we picked up a woman running her first marathon at age 60, she was tired and almost out of gas. There weren’t many people behind us so she was appreciative of the company for the last 10 miles and we got her across the finish line!

Why should someone run in your pace group?

First if the want to hit their goal and it’s the time I am slotted to run :). Second, to have a good time. I am happy to talk about anything along the course, it’s the Southern in me.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Have fun. You paid for the race, now go get your money’s worth! Enjoy seeing a new place, friends and family, testing your mind and body. Enjoy the accomplishment, setting a new PR or crossing the finish line.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Working with kids and animals in different roles
