Why do you run?
I really like to race, 5k’s to 10 Miles (my favorite distance), Duathlon, Triathlon, Cyclocross. I like both getting better against the clock and the other competitors. |
Describe your best marathon memory.
Qualifying for Boston was great, running it was great, but I would have to say getting my PR which came with an overall win that got my name in the Association of Road Racing Statisticians database |
Why do you pace?
I don’t competitively race the long distances anymore, so it’s a great way to be a part of the big hometown races and help others get their goal time. |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
I like pointing out the landmarks in my hometown, especially when I can tell people “this is what a guardian is.” Otherwise that new team name doesn’t make sense. |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
I had a negative split for my marathon PR (1:26 first half, 1:23 second half), I would encourage you to run with the group so you don’t go out too fast! |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
I aim to be just under the goal time with even mile splits, and if there is a hard hill on the course I will back off a little not to lose anyone out of the group. |
