Why do you run?
I run because it creates a balance in my life, and it enables me to relax during stressful times |
Describe your best marathon memory.
My favorite memory of my first marathon was seeing all of my friends waiting for me at mile 25 and then running to the finish |
Why do you pace?
I pace because I love to help others achieve their goals and because pacing allows me to use my running to help individuals besides myself. |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
My best pacing experience was when I paced a young man for the City of Oaks Half marathon two years ago. I was privately pacing him, and as a result I was able to gauge from his fitness that we could hit a 1:30:00 instead of the 1:40:00 he expected. His excitement when he crossed the line at 1:29:30 is something I will never forget. |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
My pace group is very upbeat and always engaging, and I typically try to talk about interesting topics to keep all of the group focused on feeling the best they can. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
I would come prepared with at least one fun fact if possible because I always try to pass the first couple of miles with friendly chatter to get to know those in the group, if they are willing of course. |
Anything else you’d like to share? |
I am a foodie, so if anyone is looking for a good time to talk about new recipes or restaurants then I’d be very excited to hear about it during the run.
What philanthropic activities do you have? |
I
currently am a pace partner for several runners at NCSU who are just getting
into the sport, and I am a wake county volunteer cleaner for the elderly |
