A quotation you like… |
You either win or learn, you never lose.
Why do you run?
It’s my radical act of defiance against an increasingly comfort-seeking world. A little suffering builds character. |
Describe your best marathon memory.
When I finished the Richmond Marathon, I got a high-five from Bart Yasso then sat on a curb and cried happy tears for my new PR. |
Why do you pace?
The same reason I coach - to help people realize they’re capable of so much more than they believe. |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
Any time someone who’s hung in the pacing group for the first half or more then ditches me to finish the race strong! |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
The shared mile is the shortest, friends! It’s still 26.2 miles, but I promise it doesn’t feel that way when you run with friends (or a good pacer!). |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
If you’re in the first half of the race, drop to the back of the group to toot; if you’re in the second half, don’t trust that toot! |
Anything else you’d like to share? |
Running is always a privilege.
What philanthropic activities do you have? |
I’m an avid supporter of public radio and nonprofit news outlets, and volunteer on my township’s Parks and Recreation Board.
