Why do you run?
I meet the nicest people. I have never met a runner that I didn't like. |
Describe your best marathon memory.
Crossing the finish line of my first marathon. I had overcome two failed attempts to complete a marathon. When I finally made it over the finish line, I didn't care about my time, only that I had achieved my goal to finish. |
Why do you pace?
To encourage and empower others to make it to the finish line and to give something back. I had a good pacer for my PR race that set a good example for me that I wanted to follow. |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
My first pacing experience was memorable because it was a local race for me. I was able to point out points of interest to the group. We didn’t just run past buildings, we talked about them. It was interesting to the out-of-towners as well as interactive. Miles just seem to fly by. I also had two people that day who set PRs. |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
Group running makes the miles go by so much faster. Time flies when you are having fun. In my group we have a blast. If you like to talk, this is your group. If you like to listen, this is your group. Join in and come along. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
Trust in your training. Race day is for having fun and reaping the rewards of your hard work. |
What philanthropic activities do you have? |
I will soon be a running buddy for “girls on the run” an after school program that encourages young girls to run a 5k.
