Why do you run?
I love the freedom. Freedom from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. Freedom to chase goals of my own choosing. |
Describe your best marathon memory.
Just happened in Chicago. 1.7 million spectators along the route. It was my 1st marathon since surgery and I had a nasty head cold. I didn’t feel great, but there was no quitting with the energy coming from that crowd! |
Why do you pace?
A time goal can be an incredibly personal thing. The stories behind people’s efforts to make a time are varied and passionate. Seeing someone hit a time they want… it’s so much more than a number |

Why should someone run in your pace group?
Marathons are all about flow. We’ll take the good with the bad. If someone takes what the marathon gives them, I’m confident we can get beat that number. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
Something will happen in the marathon that you didn’t plan for. Equipment, nutrition, weather, etc. It’s going to happen. Now that we’ve accepted that, we’ll react accordingly and continue on our way. |

What philanthropic activities do you have? |
I donate blood. All the money and power in the world can’t save you, if you need a blood donation and no one gives.
