Describe your best marathon memory.
It’s hard to top winning a marathon. PRd at the 2016 Stennis Space Center Marathon for the W! 2nd would be running the Marine Corps Marathon (2nd favorite marathon) for fun 3 weeks after my first BQ in 2010, and shaving off 6 minutes from my Steamtown PR. I told my wife how fast I ran, and she asked “WHY”? LOL! |
Why do you pace?
To serve the marathon community in any way that I can. Also, it’s a good potential opportunity to run in new states. |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
Out of the 2 😊 the most recent one. We had a pretty strong group, and I felt good the whole way. Finished with about 55 seconds to spare. I have also informally paced friends, but it’s not the same. |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
They will get consistent pacing to the race mile markers and a little buffer to spare if they end up lagging behind a little. I don’t have too many funny stories, but I can offer advice on training and racing approach based on my experiences. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
Be prepared to drop back, if needed, or pull ahead if the pace is too easy. My effort is to provide a consistent marker for the target pace. Always run your own race. |
