Personal goals

2025 I finally hit my sub 1:30 Half marathon goal. Now I’m just looking to enjoy running and help others accomplish their pacing times. Going to pace my first Full Marathon in October 2025.

A quotation you like…

“In running, it doesn’t matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, ‘I have finished’. There is a lot of satisfactions in that.” – Fred Lebow

Why do you run?

Mental health, maintain weight, gives me something to do to get away from the stressors of work.

Describe your best marathon memory.

Running my recent PB Half…..I was merely just trying to break 1:30. About halfway into the race I started doing the math in my head and realized I was feeling comfortable and on track for sub 1:25. Lo and behold, I kept it up with a new goal in mind – I finished even under 1:25. I was elated to finally pass a goal that had eluded me for years.

Why do you pace?

I like to do it to give back to the racing community. I enjoy going a more calm pace for me, talk with the folks around me, see why they are wanting to run, and cheer them up and make the grueling 13.1 miles a bit more enjoyable for folks that perhaps are running their first race or two.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

Paced an event in 2024 where I started with a guy that him and I talked for the first two miles. I told him I wanted to see the back of his shirt at the end. Next mile he ended up faltering a bit and I didn’t see him by or in front of me until mile 12. All of sudden, I hear him streaking by and he says I’m going to win. I said keep it up! He did end up finishing before and beat his previous best by a good 10 minutes. I enjoyed seeing the smile on his face at the end and the sense of happiness.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I’ll talk all you want. If you are just a person who wants to jam out to your music, go for it. I’ll still provide the pace and if you want a guy who will hoot and holler as we go through the aid stations and making sure the volunteers get some smiles on their faces – stick with me.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

You just better pass me at that finish line – keep some energy for the last mile or so to really soak in the event as a whole. You’ve trained a lot – enjoy the atmosphere!

Anything else you’d like to share?

I’m stoked to be able to pace for you and remember – Calories don’t count after running! :D
