Everyone always talks about the 6-star World Majors Marathons. Personally, I’m much more interested in running the “World Minors” – those great little races with small-town-run-club vibes, free food and drink, and all the local legends out |

A quotation you like… |
“A
runner is a miser, spending the pennies of his energy with great stinginess,
constantly wanting to know how much he has spent and how much longer he will
be expected to pay. He wants to be broke at precisely the moment he no longer
needs his coin.”

Running down 4th avenue in the NYC marathon is a special treat when it’s your hometown marathon. Friends, family, track club members – everyone is out there cheering. |

I paced my wife while she ran a Boston Qualifier one week after a serious surgery. I joked around with her the whole way and I think it took both of our minds off of the pain of running a marathon. I remember a lot more laughing and smiling than any other race I’ve run. |

Why should someone run in your pace group?

If you’re doing it right, the first 10 miles should feel like a breeze. Do everything you can to keep it under control at least until then. |
