Why do you run?
Because maybe one day I won’t be able to. Also, It is the most human thing any human can do. |
Describe your best marathon memory.
During Marine Corpse Marathon Weekend 2024, I was running my first 50k and I had just passed the marathon distance marker and was coming to terms that I still had 5 more miles to run. I was cooked but just as I was getting ready to slow down and walk; this spectator that I had seen multiple times throughout the race screamed his head off at me with motivating spirit and I felt a rush of energy flow through me and was able to finish out the race strong. |
Why do you pace?
My purpose in life is to inspire and push people to be their best selves. I love seeing the sense of accomplishment someone gets when they finish something they once thought they could never do. It inspires me and pushes me to continue doing the things that I find difficult. |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
I was a personal trainer for a very close friend of mine and I trained him from basically the couch all the way up to half marathon distance. We didn’t run a lot together before the race because our training was mostly all virtual but we ran the Jersey City Half Marathon 2024 together and made it through at a better pace than he had hoped for. It was such a fun experience being able to push a close friend to conquer a goal of theirs. |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
If someone needs words of encouragement they’re going to get it in my group. We’re going to have a blast and we’re going to push through all adversity that might come our way during this very difficult task. But the most important thing is, we’ll be doing it together. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
Go into this race with focusing on finishing. Don’t worry about pace or the distance. Racing should be fun. If you’re not smiling, you’re doing it wrong. |
Anything else you’d like to share? |
What a gift it is to be able to run. We GET to do this, while many people might not be able to.
