Why do you run? |
To deal with stress, stay in shape, help have time to think and enjoy the outdoors. |
||
Describe your best marathon memory. |
I had a great first full marathon. After struggling with the typical “wall” between miles 18-23, my coach showed up to run the last 2 miles with me. |
||
Why do you pace? |
I like getting more experience with the distance at an easier pace and also to help others accomplish their goals. I know what a big difference a good pace team can make in a first 1/2 or full. |
||
Tell us your best pacing experience. |
I had a great time pacing a 1/2 last year in May. It was very relaxed and enjoyable. I was able to help several people achieve a sub 2:30 1/2 and also ran with another pacer who taught me all about pacing.

||
Why should someone run in your pace group? |
I try to be accurate and also fun. I’m able to talk conversationally with people at the pace I am running. I definitely have a lot of 1/2 experience and can relate to concerns many runners would have. I’m also able to encourage people along the way. |
||
Any tips for runners about to join your group? |
Don’t stress too much about your watch—that’s my job. Its always great to hang with a pace group if you are trying to achieve your time goal and then have enough left in the tank to race ahead at the end and maybe get a PR. If you fall back a little, you can always make it up at some point. Save the fast for the very end when it counts the most and you’ll have a good experience. |
